Would You Like Some Cheese With That Whi– Er…Wine?
Jun 16th 2008
Time for a weekend update post! This weekend started with me in the mood for some relaxation after some events that happened on Friday, but the weekend delivered…at least Saturday did. My friend Wassy has been having some really good results from her site and had been getting a bunch of commission requests. Which is good and bad. Good because her little business is starting to actually go somewhere. Bad because it keeps pushing back a piece that I wanted to have done that's all City of Heroes related.
But because of that for our weekly get-together we ended up just hanging out at their place while I played some City of Heroes with Jay and she did her artwork stuff. I must say, she has a fine system for playing games while laying down on the couch and I must figure out how to do this at my place. It's very comfortable. The evening was capped off by a little wine and some fruit and cheese type snaking which ended up being very good. All nice and relaxing (and productive for her at the same time)
Sunday though I was in the mood for something productive. So I decided that I was going to finish the de-cluttering project that I had started a while agot and totally failed with. I attacked the mess in my bedroom which resulted in 5 bags of garbage for the trash guy to take away this morning, along with a whole lot of cardboard. I've got a ton of computer related items which I'm never going to use. I'm at a premium for space anyway, so I really need to either chuck it or sell it. Most of this stuff is in the "chuck it' area unfortunetly. I manged to get a good way into it and as soon as I get home today I'm going to continue the process. Well, after I exercise. I really need to get rid of some stuff that I NEVER use. Like my old Sega Game Gear, for example.

Standard Life Status Update
Mar 6th 2008
First up, and update on my Betta tank. I got the temperature stabilized and now I'm working on getting the filter and such ready. I'll probably be getting my betta this weekend since I have another filter with which to seed my new tank. All is proceeding according to plan. I also purchased some new/better (hopefully) plants for it over the internet as I'm having trouble finding the decor I'm looking for locally.
Wassy came over last night for mid week activities and that went pretty well too I thought. We watched Silence of the Lambs which she loved and I had never seen before. And by the end of the movie I was ranking it up there as one of my favorite movies of all time. VERY well done, and makes me want to read the books now, which I will do at some point in the near future.
We also listened to some music (Pain of Salvation – Remedy Lane to be specific) and hung out and talked. While we were hanging out she mentioned that I really needed to get a fish in my new tank because it draws your eye but it's all empty now. So since on my origami calander for today was a goldfish, I figured I'd try to fold one up. But, uh…lets just say it didn't go well. It didn't look much like a goldfish, or even the picture on the calander when I was finished.
All and all, the evening was a good de-stresser which was something I really needed this week due to stuff happening at work.
This Post Had a Title but It Blew Away

Yesterday could be described only as dreary. It was the kind of day where you wake up, look out the window and just get depressed because everything looks so gray. Even the clouds felt like they were pressing in, crowding out everything else. It was very…blah. And very windy. VERY Windy. when I was shoveling the snow off of my porch I just had to push it over the stairs and the wind would pick it up and carry it at least to my neighbors yard. Kinda lost track of it after that.
The weather was made up for though by the fact that Wassy came over last night and we hung out a bit, playing some Guitar Hero and listening to music (Nevermore and Nightwish, specifically) while she worked on one of her drawings (which is turning out very nicely).
It was a fun time, and I learned that I apparently make a pretty good cup of tea which is nice because it was the first time I brewed a cup for somebody else. Or made anything for a person other than myself for that matter. I don't trust my cooking ability enough to subject other people to my food. But the tea turned out pretty well, so I hear.
The only real down point of the evening was the fact that my apartment was freezing again due to the high speed cold winds blowing at my wall. I should get thicker curtains for the windows. I think that would really help keep the cold out.
The Stowaway Sock

Wassy came over last night for some mid week type stuff. She normally comes over Wednesdays so we do stuff that we enjoy and that her husband doesn't (anime stuff, listening to various musics, etc). We had been trying to decide all day what we were going to do for dinner because we wanted to go someplace that wasn't Applebee's. We ended up deciding on Teddy's which is a Teddy Roosevelt themed local place. Pretty good food too. I haven't been there in a long time, but I think I'll be back sooner.
Anyway, while we were waiting for our food, I shifted my feet under the table and stepped on something soft. I looked down, thinking it was a napkin or something and as it turned out, it was a sock. Specifically, it was one of my socks. I guess it stowed away in the leg of my pants and I didn't notice until just then. I think it was trying to escape. That was probably the most random thing that happened during the night.
Well, that was second to the conversation about if somebody gets married, divorced and then re-marries the same person, does their "years married" counter start again at 1 or does it continue where they left off? I'm of the opinion that if the re-marriage happened within a short period of time after the divorce, it would carry over, but anything after saying…4-5 years you'd be starting again at 1.
We returned to my place for some Guitar Hero co-op action trying to restore my save file back to it's original state after it got horribly corrupted last week, and then we listened to some music. Oceansize mostly, because I recently rediscovered the CD after not listening to it for quite some time.
