The Stowaway Sock
Jan 24th 2008
Wassy came over last night for some mid week type stuff. She normally comes over Wednesdays so we do stuff that we enjoy and that her husband doesn't (anime stuff, listening to various musics, etc). We had been trying to decide all day what we were going to do for dinner because we wanted to go someplace that wasn't Applebee's. We ended up deciding on Teddy's which is a Teddy Roosevelt themed local place. Pretty good food too. I haven't been there in a long time, but I think I'll be back sooner.
Anyway, while we were waiting for our food, I shifted my feet under the table and stepped on something soft. I looked down, thinking it was a napkin or something and as it turned out, it was a sock. Specifically, it was one of my socks. I guess it stowed away in the leg of my pants and I didn't notice until just then. I think it was trying to escape. That was probably the most random thing that happened during the night.
Well, that was second to the conversation about if somebody gets married, divorced and then re-marries the same person, does their "years married" counter start again at 1 or does it continue where they left off? I'm of the opinion that if the re-marriage happened within a short period of time after the divorce, it would carry over, but anything after saying…4-5 years you'd be starting again at 1.
We returned to my place for some Guitar Hero co-op action trying to restore my save file back to it's original state after it got horribly corrupted last week, and then we listened to some music. Oceansize mostly, because I recently rediscovered the CD after not listening to it for quite some time.
It's Freezing In Here!
Oct 10th 2007
I went out to dinner with my Dad last night because my Mom isn't here this week (she went to Pennsylvania, again) and that means the kids get taken out to dinner since he doesn't want to cook (that's my theory anyway). Normally I wouldn't post something about it but…this is too good to pass up.
After we ordered, an older couple was seated at the table next to us. Well, more accurately they were seated a couple tables down by the waitress, but they decided they'd rather sit someplace else…so they did.
Then the woman took off her coat and proclaimed loudly "It's freezing in here!" When the waitress came to take her order, she asked if "the cold air was on" and if so, could they please turn on the heat. After arguing with them for a while ("Well, would you like to sit in a different room?" "No, we don't want to sit out there.") they finally settled down enough to order. The man ordered some kind of beer and the waitress asked the woman if she wanted some wine because that would help warm her up. She replied "No, no! I can't drink while I'm taking my medication"
The story from this point is second hand since I had gotten up to get some more bread from the salad bar area while this was happening, but according to my dad, after the woman got back from her salad bar trip, this freezing woman exclaimed "I feel like drinking something cold…" and then proceeded to take several large gulps from her husbands beer.
My theory on this is that her medication prohibits grape based products, because that's the only way this makes any sense.
Oh, and the other room they didn't want to move into? Much warmer than the room they were sitting in. People really confuse me…
