    What do you always say you will do but never actually get around to doing?

    I would really, really like to have the time to spend working on learning how to play piano/keyboard. I even went and bought one last year, but more important learning things came up regarding my career and I never really progressed much beyond the very basic basics of things.

    It's something I would really like to do though…there's just not enough hours in the day to fit everything that I want to do in, and not go totally crazy due to lack of relaxation time.

    The IRS has decided that it would send me my stimulus payment yesterday. So I went about stimulating the economy like a good little citizen.

    As I've mentioned in the past (although it was a while ago), I've always wanted to learn how to play some kind of an instrument. I used to know how to play trumpet from my elementary school days, but I dunno if that really counts. I decided that I needed a new hobby, something that was more constructive than hanging around and playing video games. So I decided to buy myself a keyboard (well, a MIDI controller actually) so that I could learn more about music and how to play stuff.

    It's always something I've been interested in doing, but I never got the motivation to go out and do it. But now I'm going to try to change that. So I ordered myself up a Korg K61P after doing some research. Now I just have to figure out how I want to go about the learning process. I don't think I want to take a class or lessons right off the bat anyway. I'm not terribly interested in making this a formal thing that starts feeling like work. I may do something down the line, but right now I just want to kinda mess around with stuff. Probably not the best way to go, but I'm not one for one on one lessons in most cases anyway. We'll have to see.

    • ]]>     Pieter Hintjens has a beef. And it’s with the capslock key. He’s started a grassroots campaign on Google Groups and in his blog. I can’t say I really blame him since I can’t remember the last time I actually used the key for anything important.

    Sure, some people might object…there’s some actual legitimate uses of the capslock key out there (No, that doesn’t include chatting in all caps on message boards and chat rooms ;) ). I think eliminating the caps lock key would make the Internet a better place. Well, that and some sort of a boxing glove that comes out of the screen and smacks people in the face if they type in all caps all the time.

    And while we’re crusading against the caps lock key, can we look a little bit below it and start an offshoot anti-windows key campaign too?
