Scheduling Is Hard!
Dec 21st 2006
I got a reply back from the department head at my school who I’ve been trying to talk to about scheduling problems for the past week or so.
Anyway, I need to meet up with him after the 1st of the Year when campus re-opens so that we can work something out. It finally seems like I’m moving forward with trying to finish off school. Which is something I desperately need to do. Must that stupid piece of paper that tells other people that I know how to do what I’m already doing.
Bah.
The only thing that going to college did for me was allow me to meet up with my current circle of friends. That education stuff stopped after the first 1.5 years. Now I’m just paying money so they can run me around for a couple more years, teach me nothing new and then give me a shiny piece of paper.
FREEEEE!!! (For Now)
Dec 12th 2006
I took my American History 101 final last night, which means the class is done and I’m officially free! Woohoo! I think I did pretty well on it too, which was good considering I actually spent time studying for it. I usually don’t study much for tests, but generally I’m the kind of person that can look over their notes for 15 minutes before the test and call that studying.
I’ve also finally established contact with somebody at school to try and fix up my schedule problems for next semester. Those problems mainly being they’re not offering anything I need and haven’t offered this one specific class at night or on the weekends in, well…ever. The class is Software Engineering which is incredibly annoying to me because IT’S WHAT I DO AT MY JOB EVERY DAY. I also need to take a western civilization course which, surprise surprise…they’re not offering either.
And for some reason my Calc 1 course didn’t transfer over and I really don’t want to have to take that again. I need to talk with the registrar’s office I think and get that settled.
One thing at a time…
Workplace Aggrivation
Oct 11th 2006
I feel drained. Today at work was pretty rough. I’m going to vent a bit since I need an outlet for this…so anyone reading just needs to bare with me. Hopefully this makes some sense.
Ok, I’ve been working on a fairly large, complex project that finally went live last week. They’ve got some bugs which I’ve been working on fixing for the past couple days. As it happens, my boss (one of them…I technically have two people above me, plus another person who’s feeding me changes that I need to make for this particular project I’m on) has some other things he’d like me to work on. So before noon, I’m supposed to be working on 3 different projects at once.
In addition to that, a bug that came across my desk yesterday which I told him wasn’t part of what I was doing ended up back on my desk after he figured that it was. So I asked him if I should look at that or finish up some work on the project I’m working on. He said to finish up what I was doing that it wasn’t that important. No less than 15 minutes later (after he told me I should finish up what I was doing) does he walk by and ask if I had a chance to look at the bug which wasn’t my problem to begin with. ARRGH! So I stop what I’m doing, figure out again that it’s not my problem (surprise…it wasn’t my problem!).
So then I get an e-mail at the end of the day, telling me to go work on something else that’s important, as if I wasn’t just handed 2-3 other projects I needed to work on earlier. ARRGHH! Hopefully tomorrow doesn’t go the same way, I’m not sure I can take two days in a row like that.
