The Season Starts.
Oct 13th 2009
Cold season that is. Urgh. I’m feeling pretty crappy, but I’m at work today anyway since I have some stuff I have to do. And I’m saving my sick day in case I feel absolutely horrible tomorrow. For now, I bide my time until the Pharmacy opens.
I figured I’d be sick this week after both my friends and roommates came down with a cold over the weekend. At least it happened after the wine country trip.
27 minutes until I can get some Sudafed…

Ok, that's it. I'm tired of winter. When you wake up in the morning and it's -4F, it's time to take drastic measures. I quit winter! I'm done.
…
Ok, so that doesn't work real well…but man, I wish canada would keep it's cold air up there and not have to shove it down here every other week. It's their air, I'm more than happy to let them keep it up there where it feels safest.
There's been nothing much of interest to report over the past couple days. Work has been extremely hectic as our billing cycle and some reports that the upper management needed converged into the same time period and I had to do a lot of running around. As far as personal stuff goes, I've just been spending a lot of time working on my C++ programming and a little bit of time playing Mass Effect on my 360. I believe I'm almost done with Mass Effect, so expect a post with a really late review of that coming soonish.
Time marches onwards to the weekend, which I am looking forward to eagerly.

This Post Had a Title but It Blew Away

Yesterday could be described only as dreary. It was the kind of day where you wake up, look out the window and just get depressed because everything looks so gray. Even the clouds felt like they were pressing in, crowding out everything else. It was very…blah. And very windy. VERY Windy. when I was shoveling the snow off of my porch I just had to push it over the stairs and the wind would pick it up and carry it at least to my neighbors yard. Kinda lost track of it after that.
The weather was made up for though by the fact that Wassy came over last night and we hung out a bit, playing some Guitar Hero and listening to music (Nevermore and Nightwish, specifically) while she worked on one of her drawings (which is turning out very nicely).
It was a fun time, and I learned that I apparently make a pretty good cup of tea which is nice because it was the first time I brewed a cup for somebody else. Or made anything for a person other than myself for that matter. I don't trust my cooking ability enough to subject other people to my food. But the tea turned out pretty well, so I hear.
The only real down point of the evening was the fact that my apartment was freezing again due to the high speed cold winds blowing at my wall. I should get thicker curtains for the windows. I think that would really help keep the cold out.
It's Freaking COLD Out

I thought yesterday was pretty cold at around 10F getting down to around 1F by the end of the day. But that was before I woke up this morning and saw that the temperature was -5F. Brrrr.
At least I didn't have to use my own car to get to work this morning. As I've mentioned before, my car developed an issue with the airbag light coming on and the parts came in to fix it earlier this week, so I had dropped it off at the dealer last night for service. My mom picked me up to take me to work this morning and her car is in a garage, and therefore not totally cold like my car would have been. So that worked out all right. Hopefully my car returns to me all better tonight though.
