Vox Hunt: I Wrote This Myself
Nov 13th 2006
Show us a picture of your own handwriting.
Submitted by eclaire.
I feel sorry anyone who has to read anything that I wrote out by hand. I must have inherited my handwriting skills from my Dad. My mom’s is much, much neater. As always, I apologize for my crappy camera phone.

Inspired by the Emporer.
Another easy Vox Hunt!
I love penguins. Not sure why, but I’ve always been fond of them. That’s a pic of the Homboldt penguins at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse. These pictures were taken on a trip with some friends to the zoo over the summer. I believe I’ve mentioned that before.

Vox Hunt: Are You Ready To Rock?

Show us some concert photos.

Oooh, an easy one! Here’s some pictures taken from the Dream Theater concert I went to, March 29th, 2006 at the Chevrolet Theater in Wallingford, CT.
Vox Hunt: Stick Figure
Sep 18th 2006
Show us a stick figure drawing.
I’ve got two images for you this time
First is a t-shirt I designed for tinyminds.org, a Linux help site that I was a staff member of at one point in the past. The tag line reads “Tinyminds.org: Making Linux Simpler”. This is very close to the extent of my artistic abilities.
Vox Hunt: Local Landmark
Sep 17th 2006
Show us a local landmark.
Fort Stanwix, colonial outpost on the site of Rome, N.Y., controlling a principal route from the Hudson River to Lake Ontario. Originally a French trading center, it was rebuilt by the English general John Stanwix in 1758. The British colonial leader Sir William Johnson signed an important treaty with the Iroquois there in 1768. The fort fell into disrepair until early in the American Revolution, when it was rebuilt by the patriots and called Fort Schuyler. In 1777 (see Saratoga campaign) the fort was held against British and Tory forces until reinforcements under Benedict Arnold helped lift the siege. Fort Stanwix is a national monument (see National Parks and Monuments, table).
Vox Hunt: Smile for the Camera
Sep 9th 2006
Show us your camera smile.
OK, you asked for it. There’s two smiles I can give you.
This is my normal smile. I simply can’t smile on camera without actually being happy about something and not make it look…stupid. So I normally go with no smile. See my profile picture for another example.
Smile #2: Mental Institution version
This is a smile you normally don’t see. That’s my fake smile. I think it looks more like I belong in some sort of an institution in a straight jacket, rather than an actual smile.
I’m not the most photogenic person in the universe.
Vox Hunt: Oops
Sep 4th 2006
Take a photo of an accident or a mistake
This book. That’s my mistake
I purchased it from Barnes&Noble earlier this week without really looking around at reviews…it ended up not being the book I was looking for, so I had to order something else on Amazon.
Now you know why I was a little hesitant to just buy a book on cooking for dummies yesterday.
Vox Hunt: That Rules
Aug 23rd 2006
Show us some rules.
Ok, in the interests of full disclosure…I did not take this picture. It’s a sign at westpoint military academy. One of my friends took a tour there and he saw this sign and had to take a picture. So I’m cheating a little but, but it’s for the benefit of everyone, isn’t it?
Vox Hunt: Stuck On You
Aug 21st 2006
Take a picture of something that someone put a sticker
Well…this one isn’t quite as good as my last one, but here’s a copy of the local newspaper with a sticker for an ambulance service on it…handily covering up the name of the paper. Oh, and there’s Tiger Woods. He just won. Again.
The story with the ambulance thing is that, previously, the city contracted out to a private service for our ambulance response stuff. However, they recently created an ambulance service attached to the fire department, which is the default provider if you call 911. Of course, this kinda ticked off the private company. If you call 911, they’re trying to get people to insist that the ambulance they send out is one of theirs instead of the cities. It got very bizarre for a while.
