What’s the most drastic change you’ve ever made to your appearance?
Submitted by Laurie.
I’m perhaps the most boring person ever. I’ve had the same haircut since I can remember. I also don’t change my clothes too much. Jeans and a T-shirt, or shorts in the summer. Nothing fancy.
I’ve toyed with the idea of a beard or something, but I’m not sure I could look at myself in the mirror with a straight face after that, so that’s not happening. More possible is a change in hair style, but I’m so afraid it’ll look dumb that I always chicken out.
I don’t spend too much effort on physical appearance. I mean…I don’t want to look like a slob or anything, but I try to put in the minimum amount of effort while still looking respectable. There’s more important things to spend my time on.
QotD: Pizza Preference
Nov 8th 2006
How do you eat your pizza: folded, flat or with a fork and knife?
Submitted by danimass.
It really depends on how big the piece is. If it’s small enough to not be kinda floppy then I just eat it flat. I never fold. However, if it’s big enough, then I move to the fork. A lot of times, I actually start with the fork and then move to flat when it gets smaller.
And this has been Fact #52 about me that you didn’t want to know but I’m compelled to tell you anyway!
QotD: My Dream Career

What’s your dream career?
Submitted by Something.
Ideally, I’d like to do nothing and get paid massive amounts of money for it. Perhaps I should look into being the CEO of a company
Seriously, I’m sort of in it right now. My dream career would be web development (preferably PHP, but I’m not picky at this point…). I’ve found the niche I enjoy the most. Programming for websites is just…fun for me in ways that programming a desktop application, well…isn’t.
Yep, web development is my thing.

What would the title of your autobiography be?
Submitted by princesskasren.
I’m guessing it’ll be something along the lines of “Boring Facts About A Guy You Don’t Know!”. Heck, I wouldn’t even buy a book about me

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Why?
Submitted by abcdefg81.
I dunno, I kinda like it where I am. I never really put much thought into living anywhere else. Well, New York State is kinda weird in the winter, so maybe a little south.
I’d like to stay in the USA since I know the language. Maybe England wouldn’t be so bad, but they tend to pay more for their electronic gizmos over there, and I’d never really be able to survive. Oh, or Canada. I wouldn’t mind moving to Canada. I know it’s probably not true for everyone, but I’ve never met a Canadian that wasn’t a nice person.
I don’t want to move too far south. Too hot, too many bugs (Florida), chance of hurricanes. I don’t want to move west due to the tornado factor (midwest) or the earthquake factor (California). I’m pretty much stuck in the Northeast. But that’s fine with me. I like where I’m at. I may end up needing to move though, later on. We’ll see how that goes after I finish my degree.
QotD: My Vox Name
Nov 2nd 2006
How did you pick your Vox name? Does it mean something?
Submitted by LeendaDLL.
Well, currently it’s my real name. So yes…that’s what it means
I’m debating changing it to Frost though, which is what I use in the City of Heroes MMO type games I play. It’s a shortened version of my favorite characters name Frost Magus, just to make things simple.
I also go by Derango sometimes in FPS games. That one was kinda random…don’t ask me why I did it or what it means. No, it’s got nothing to do with the car. It has nothing to do with anything. The reason I don’t like going by that anymore is simply due to the car factor. It first came into being when I was trying to find a name for Cyberstrike 2, which was an online mech combat game thing that was pretty fun to play.
Might as well go through all of the names I’ve used in the past if I can remember them…
Before Derango came Avenger. I used that on an online IRC channel (Battlechat) dedicated to the discussion (and online play with the help of a very cool IRC bot) of the pen and paper board game Battletech. I didn’t really like that handle. Too angry sounding. So after getting to know the guys some more, I switched out to my real name.
Before that came my days of AOL. Hey, It’s a rite of passage, isn’t it? Anyway, my screen name there was Otruneal. In order to explain that one, I need to explain the first one I ever used.
Back in the day, Compuserve had an offshoot ISP called Wow! which was my first real ISP that I was on. Soo…buggy. But the best thing about Wow was the community of chat room role players. We had a whole little world set up in there and friends were made all over the place. I took the name Ot’eal for my character which became my login name. Of course I was pretty young when all of this was going on, so I wasn’t the best role player in the world and my characters were kinda odd. I started off as a half dragon thing, and then morphed into a gargoyle (as in the Disney cartoon show that I still absolutely love to this day) Anyway, if you went to the website linked there, you would have noticed that the Wow! service was quite short lived, so we jumped to AOL after. My name was too short for AOL, so I expanded the contracted part and off we went. The RP in the AOL chatrooms was heavily lacking, so after a while I just stopped trying to do it.

Don’t tell anyone, but I love the scent of vanilla. I dunno why. I just do. It also tastes good too.

QotD: Happy Halloween!
Oct 31st 2006
Did you dress up today? See any good costumes?
I’m not really big on Halloween. To me, it’s just another day. If anyone asks what I dressed up as today, I’m going with “office worker”.
Once the whole “free candy!!” thing wore off in my childhood, I just kinda stopped caring about it. I’ve never been really excited about it.

What’s your sign? What do you think of astrology and horoscopes?
I’m an Aquarius although I really don’t put much stock in the whole astroloy thing. You can basically make anything fit with a horoscope or some other test which tells you about yourself based on a sign. It can be fun to play around with at times though.
Here’s my horoscope for today:
Sometimes you appear disconnected from reality, but others don’t usually know how far out you really are. Now, as the Moon moves through your sign, you can surprise everyone with your brilliance. You can be the hero by finding a solution to a problem that others couldn’t solve. Don’t hold back. Think big, and trust the original ideas that come to you just in time.
QotD: Well, I’d Never!

What did you think you would never ever do… but did?
Submitted by Murky.
Go on a Roller coaster. I’m not a thrill seeking person, really. I don’t generally like amusement park rides that are of the extreme classification.
And then I found myself in Busch Gardens Williamsburg. They’ve got a couple of really nice roller coasters and I was determined, along with my mom, to actually go on one. So we scouted things out. We didn’t want to go on anything where we were dangling, so The Big Bad Wolf and Alpengeist were out. SApollo’s Chariot was also out. Too tall and fast. So we ended up in the line for the Loch Ness Monster.
Little did we know at the time that this coaster involved interlocking loops. My dad and sister who chose not to ride were aware of this fact, but did not tell us until after.
I should have gotten the picture they took. The people in front of us in the car had their hands up and were screaming. My mom and myself were in the back seat with our eyes closed holding on for dear life. The first part of the ride I was watching. The first drop was killer, and I made the mistake of looking out the side when we went through the first loop ( “Why is the ground above me?!?”). It was…interesting.
I probably wouldn’t do something like that again, epically since all the rides are getting taller, faster, more intense. It’s just too much for me. But I did it once. Well twice actually. I was on a wooden coaster at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania. Comet
