I Need To Have People Over More Often

0

I need to have people over to my apartment more often I think.

Aside from the socializing and having parts, it also forces me to clean up. That’s my project for tonight since I’m having a friend over Friday, and as I had mentioned previously, I’m having my family over on Sunday (and possibly some on Monday as well)

My arms feel like they’re about to fall off though, from playing with the new Wii so much, so this weekend is going to be interesting considering the main purpose for having people over is to have some fun with the new system. I’m using muscles that I didn’t even know existed.

1.5 hours to go until my 5 day vacation starts.

Scheduling Is Hard!

I got a reply back from the department head at my school who I’ve been trying to talk to about scheduling problems for the past week or so.

Anyway, I need to meet up with him after the 1st of the Year when campus re-opens so that we can work something out. It finally seems like I’m moving forward with trying to finish off school. Which is something I desperately need to do. Must that stupid piece of paper that tells other people that I know how to do what I’m already doing.

Bah.

The only thing that going to college did for me was allow me to meet up with my current circle of friends. That education stuff stopped after the first 1.5 years. Now I’m just paying money so they can run me around for a couple more years, teach me nothing new and then give me a shiny piece of paper.

How do you take your tea or coffee?
Submitted by Vasquez.

I don’t.

I enjoy how coffee smells but I don’t like the taste. And I’ve never been a big tea drinker.

The Wii Report

I got my Wii yesterday after much anticipation. It rocks! Although I knew it would by playing with other people’s, but…having it right there is even cooler.

Setup went really well, except for the minor hitch where I plugged in the audio cables into my TVs inputs for AV instead of the ones for the component cables. I need to get a switcher so I can change between the Wii and my PS2.

I played a lot of Rayman last night, trying to unlock games for the Wii gatherings that I’m going to be having coming up here soonish with my family. Those racing minigames are killing me. I also played some Madden 07 which makes really good use of the Wiimote and nunchuck controls. I lost the game, but it was a fun loss. My only complaint about Madden is that the kicking is a little…weird.

After that I played more Zelda. I had a saved game which I had been playing over at my friends house, but I decided to start fresh so I could get better acquainted with the controls. I’m almost back to where I was on my other save right now, and my plan worked…I definitely know where thing’s are located better now.

So, all in all…two thumbs way up on the Wii. I’m really glad I spent the money on it.

This seems to be my pattern too, getting a brand new console right before Christmas. I got my PS2 about this same time last year too.

My friends code would be 5712 9739 8199 4949, for reference

QotD: I’d Like To Thank…

0

Congrats – TIME Magazine voted you “Person of the Year”!  What’s your acceptance speech?

First off, I’d like to thank all of the little people that made this great achievement possible. Last year when I started, I had no idea that this would happen. It’s a great honor to be selected as person of the year. There were a lot of people along the way, and I can’t mention everybody so I apologize if I leave anybody out.

First of all I’d like to thank my parents for—

Wait a second, what the heck did I do?

This whole TIME magazine thing is pretty stupid, in my opinion. They always seem to just select some cop-out person or inanimate object as person of the year every year. They picked 3 people last year, George W. Bush twice and the Earth. Which really isn’t a person.

Bleh.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiii!

QotD: Party Time. Excellent.

Are you throwing or attending a holiday party this year?  Any ideas/tips to share?

Well, this year, I’ll be sorta throwing a party. The afternoon on Christmas Eve I’m having my parents and possibly my sister and her fiance over to play with my Wii. (NINTENDO Wii sicko ;P ). Then we’re headed off to my grandmothers (mother’s side) for the evening. On Christmas day we’re headed off to my aunt’s (Father’s side) so that we can be ignored and bored for a couple hours most likely.

I don’t really do anything other than the family type stuff though.

It’s Coming…

0

Today is going to be the slowest day in the history of all days. My Wii is coming. It left Syracuse at about 4am this morning.

The wait will be over. And all I have to do is make it through work.

Well, my throat is a little sore this morning, so perhaps I’ll get sick and go home early ;) Nah…

Should Have Picked Overnight Shipping

0

My Wii is currently in Buffalo…just sitting there. I’m regretting not picking overnight shipping now, but I guess this is an exercise in patience at this point. It was an extra $30 for overnight shipping anyway…meh. I can wait a day. The wii shrine has been updated a bit. I now have a Nunchuck that I picked up yesterday from Circuit City. They had a ton of them there and you need to grab those things when you can. So when I get mine, I’ll have a total of 3 wiimotes and 3 nunchucks.

Time seems to be running about four times slower than usual right now. I hate anticipation induced temporal disturbances.

Speaking of temporal disturbances, I think I may have to send another e-mail to the head of the department at my school about my scheduling difficulties for next semester. He said last week that he’d send me a more detailed reply tomorrow and it’s been several tomorrows without anything. So I’m wondering if he forgot about me.

I was out shopping tonight to pick up Rayman for the Wii, for when it gets here on Tuesday and I noticed that Target had Wiimotes as well, so I snapped up number 3, which is as many people as I could even imagine fitting in my apartment safely at one time.

I’m ready for my Wii! Which is currently in Ohio at a UPS sorting facility.
