Today is Christmas, which is a flurry of activity and meeting with friends and family for most, but for me it’s an eye in the storm of the holiday season.

Yesterday I went over to my parents for my immediate family’s christmas gathering as well as a party for bits of my mom’s side of the family. It was a lot of fun. Much hanging out and lots of playing of the traditional holiday games of pitch. All the while Wassy was tormenting me with text messages about the coloring of the christmas-themed Frost piece she was working on. Evil!

Anyway, I’ll try to have a full review of the proceedings up at some point soonish (hopefully, I know I’ve said such things previously…) but I just wanted to take a moment to show off what Wassy was working on as it’s quite awesome:

Let It Snow

It’s cropped a little strangely due to the size of her scanner (also why the black line appears towards the bottom) but you should be able to get the idea. She’s awesome, and I just want to say again how thankful I am that she took the time to do this for me yesterday. It captures the winter feeling nicely and I love Frost’s facial expression and pose, and the bits of holly in her belt and hair.

It’s one of my favorite gifts. Now to figure out where best to display this piece…
