[Plinky] In 100 Years, My Space Blanket Will Be Worth Something
Which items in your house will command top dollar at an antique store in a century?
Just to make this question more interesting, I’m going to be assuming that in 100 years, the world will have been plunged into darkness, be it by nuclear war or zombie holocaust.
Space Survival Blanket
In the wasteland that will be the remnants of modern civilization, you’re going to be doing a lot of sleeping outdoors. And it’s going to be cold out sometimes and you’re going to want a blanket. But standard blankets are so bulky and hard to carry around, making you easy prey for any marauders/zombies. But the space blanket is thin, light and warm. Made by technology from NASA (and purchased from them too). It also doubles as a reflector in case you need to attract somebody’s attention.
Random Bottle Caps
The Fallout series of computer games has shown us that in the future, the currency of choice is going to be bottle caps. And we’ve got plenty of those hanging around the apartment at any given moment. Not only will they be currency, they’ll be of interest to currency collectors too!
Canned SPAM
Well, food is going to be hard to come by with no agricultural infrastructure. Hence why I’m stocking up on cans of SPAM. They last practically forever and are sealed pretty good. So 100 years in the future, when you get hungry…you better like spam.
