I think that's part of the charm actually. It was getting back to the roots. The storyline being simple let the characters spend more time interacting instead of explaining things to the audience.The way the explained the reboot was genius and totally makes sense. When the time travel thing was revealed I was thinking "Oh no…not another one of these" but they really pulled it off. I want to see it again…

Even though it was such a simple plot line, the way that they got around having to make "your father's Star Trek" was pure genius! I only watched old 1960's show so I can't say how well it did in comparison to the newer movie/tv installments.

Yeah, I was a little afraid of that too. That particular scene was really important for Kirk's character…so it was good that they had it in there. But I'm glad that was about the extent of it.Finally, somebody gets Star Trek.

I was glad it wasn't all sexed out. I thought, by the preview, that it would be. But it seems they showed everything in that department IN the preview I'm also excited for sequels, that's exactly what I updated my Facebook status with once we left
