Looks like an interesting way to do strawberry shortcake. This is one of my family's favorite desserts but we have an unusual twist on it as well. My mom makes flaky pie crust and bakes it flat, sprinkled with sugar. Then we layer the pie crust and the mashed strawberries in an individual serving bowl and top it with vanilla ice cream. Nothing says summer that a dish of that.
