Vox Hunt: Eat What You Want Day

0

Today is "Eat What You Want" Day. Show us what you would eat right now if you could.

Catching up on my Vox Hunts and such, so this is actually yesterday's question. But…here's the answer I would have given yesterday.

Damn you Pioneer Woman!!! As soon as there's fresh strawberries to be had, this will be made.

QotD: Limerick Day (With Bonus Quiznos Rant)

0

Today is Limerick Day. Share a limerick please!

A man went to quiznos for lunch
The workers were dumb as a bunch
He waited in line
For a very long time
And left with a cold sub to munch

Ok…seriously guys. When I go to a fast food type place, I'm not looking for stellar service here. I'm not expecting people who cater to my every whim or even make the food perfectly. As long as I get what I order in a reasonable amount of time and it's made sorta correctly…I'm happy.

So when I went to the local Quiznos for lunch yesterday (because I had a coupon) and saw it was busy, I was ok with a delay. I know it was lunchtime. For the record when I arrived I was one of the few people in line, but the guy in front of me had a big order. No problem…it happens.

If you are somehow unfamialir with Quiznos, their whole thing is making toasted subs. Which by definition, should be warm when consumed. They take your order, shove it into this oven thing and it slowly moves along while it's being cooked and pops out the other side where another person takes it, puts on the finishing touches, you pay and off you go.

Or that's what should happen. What happened to me yesterday was my order got through the oven, sat on the tray for roughly 10 minutes while it was getting all cold and the orders backed up while the employee who was supposed to be dealing with the orders coming out of the oven was chatting it up with people  and wandering around very slowly during the busy lunch hour. I got lucky though. At least my order didn't get stuck in the oven when the tray filled up and prevented other sandwiches from getting in. There were some very burnt subs.

And then…THEN…when I was the next person in line, they proceeded to grab a random sub, ask if it was mine and when I said "no, mine's still sitting on the oven over there" they proceeded to start ringing up the people who were standing behind me in line. NO. You don't do that. You keep the freaking orders in the order they came in.

I'm not one to get mad at this stuff…especially at service type people since I know their job is a lot of work and they take a lot of crap from people. But dear lord…if you can't keep things in order and get people their warm subs at a place who's entire purpose is to provide TOASTED WARM SUBS you get what's coming to you. Not that I got nasty or anything, but I made my displeasure known…

That Quiznos is on my "do not visit" list. Right up there with the Taco Bell who made me wait 15-20 minutes for my order because I decided that I'd go into the building and order instead of going through the drive through.
