If you could to create your own music band, whom would you put in it?
Submitted by Jack Yan.
- Drums - Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree)
I *almost* put Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater in this spot, but I think that Gavin would work out better. He's proven that he's versitile and able to taylor his playing to the song, depending on what the situation calls for. He's also very creative when he lets lose and comes up with a lot of very interesting fills and patterns. - Guitar/Vocals – Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree)
Steven Wilson is going to be playing guitar and singing in the band, with the occasional keyboard part as well. He's just one of the most tallented individuals that's out there today making music and one of the best lyric writers I know of. - Guitar/Vocals – Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth)
Mikael Alkerfeldt will be the second guitarist for the band as well as vocalist, lending both his clean vocals and his growling style for texture, depending on the context of the song. His guitar solos will also be a welcome addition to the group, since they're practically dripping with emotion. - Keyboards – Joe Stote (Former 3)
Joe is…one of a kind. An excellent performer with a huge stage presence. Of course he'll also take some of the percussion duties as well. And since he's currently not with a band, this is probably the only realistic pick I have on here! - Bass – John Myung (Dream Theater)
John Myung is an extremely technical bass player, but he also knows when to put that technicality away and play something that adds to the music. He can fade to the background to provide a foundation or he can play more up front. He's also a very poetic lyricist and I'd be interested to see what he and Steven Wilson would come up with in collaboration.

Whew….ok, it's been quite a long time since I posted.
The last week has been weird. Far enough away from the move where I couldn't pack much and close enough where I felt like I should be doing SOMETHING. I did some limited packing and organizing of the random stuff in my bedroom., but I couldn't really do much more than that.
And then…I got a cold. Out of all the times to get a cold, it had to be now right? I guess it wasn't helping that I've been a little stressed and thinking about how all this move related stuff is going to work. But regardless, I ended up with a cold starting tuesday/wednesday and I didn't start really feeling better until saturday and especially sunday.
Saturday I went out to my friends apartment so we could do a little window shopping of possible outdoor furniture for the balcony of the new apartment. We ended up finding some decent chairs in Target that were cheap enough to not break the budget and weren't the standard straight plastic ugly looking chairs. So that's something to keep in mind as we get settled in.
Sunday was a major packing day though, finally. I've got most of the stuff that I'm not still using on a day to day basis packed up now. It's starting to look really bare in here.
I'll try to keep this updated over the next week or two, but this is when stuff really starts to happen. We should get the keys on Wednesday and the plan is to be moved in over this friday-monday and work on settling where everything is going to be. So I'm going to be really busy starting very soon.
