Ah gotcha. Yep. I agree. States rights…very important and making sure they stay that was is one of the core ideas of the country from the start, and I hope that things start to change. I'm hopeful because this issue is receiving such attention right now. It feels like we're on the very edge of a turning point.It just kinda amazes me that we've been arguing about states rights vs federal government ever since the country has been created. It's one of those arguments that just hasn't been solved…what's the best difference? Even after 200+ years, we're still making it up as we go along

No need to apologize! I completely agree – especially on that measure – I'm just saying that as much as it sucks, that's what our nation is about. That what makes and keeps us different as a country to the world.I doubt that this is the last time we've seen this battle fought, and maybe next time our STATES will be more inline with our COUNTRY and we'll have better results.

Just as an addition. I wanted to make sure it wasn't appearing like I was attacking you or something. I worry about that sometime when politics shows up on the internet and it's why I don't really talk about it much.

The thing is though, in California, it's not voting to stay the same…they're voting to take away rights that have been granted already.

I think that the fact that the COUNTRY can vote to become less prejudice but the STATES can vote to stay the same simply proves what this country is all about. It's about letting the States govern themselves and even though I don't agree with the choices all the States make I really believe that is of the utmost importance in this country. Its what we were founded on. If we move away from that then we loose our identity as a country.Change takes time and I look forward to seeing the changes.
