Caught In The Whirlwind
Geeky Weekend
I had a really nice weekend this week, although it was tragically much too short.
Friday was very nice. It was the first time in a while my friends and I were able to get onto City of Heroes (and Teamspeak) to hang out for an evening. We played the game, and also watched the Olympic opening ceremony while we were doing it, which is always entertaining. This is becoming a bit of a tradition, watching the opening ceremony of the games while poking fun at all of the pageantry and the horrible outfits some of the nations had. And President Bush looking as bored as I have ever seen anyone look.
Saturday I was planning on going out with my friends to watch The Dark Knight again, but that got pushed back to Sunday which was really no problem. So I ended up lounging around for a while and playing Final Fantasy XII. I've already completed it but I'm trying to play though with a guide to complete more of the side quests and stuff I missed. It's a very good game. I also worked up the ambition to clean, and I managed to pretty much complete cleaning in my bedroom. For now. There's just a couple of things I need to tidy up still, but for the most part, the bedroom is finally clean. I celebrated this feat by playing some more City of Heroes with my friends while watching the Olympics (Swimming, men's gymnastics (blah!) and beach volleyball (yay!)).
Sunday, as mentioned I went out with my friends to watch The Dark Knight again which was still totally awesome. I could watch that movie over and over again and not get tired of it. I really hope it's able to knock Titanic off as highest grossing movie of all time, however it's looking like they're slowing down a bit. Oh well. It's not just a good superhero movie, it's a good movie period. After that we went back to their place and finished watching Full Metal Alchemist which is a very awesome anime series that I highly recommend to anybody. After that, more Olympics watching. I may have a Michael Phelps related rant coming up if I have the time to type it up later.
Unfortunetly, the worst part of the weekened is the inevitable end. Boo.

Christmas Report

Back at work, sadly, after an action packed christmas weekend. I figured I’d post a quick update as to the goings on. I left work at 2 on wednsday and spent the time relaxing and winding down. Not too much to report there that’s terribly interesting. Christmas Eve I wandered over to my parents house
Long Overdue

I haven’t updated this blog in over a month now. I blame NaNoWriMo. It sucked my writing energy for everything except working on my novel. I’m happy to report that I have, indeed, won. I finished my wordcount while I was over visiting with Kris and Marcy in Boston Thanksgiving weekend. The book isn’t finished

It’s time for another one of those weekend activity reports I said I was trying to get away from, but this weekend happened to be totally amazingly awesome so you’re going to hear about it anyway. Like I’ve been mentioning, I went out to Boston this weekend to meet up with my friends Kris and
Looking Forward and Back

I’m headed to Boston this weekend to see some friends and catch the Roger Waters concert on the 3rd, so needless to say I’m looking forward to the weekend right now. This stretch over the past few weeks has been pretty bad relatively, so I could definitely use a little mini-vacation right about now. There’s

Blargh. That about sums up my feelings right now. I had kinda a mixed bag weekend, but I’ve decided to split it up into two posts so I’ll get to the second, more personal one later. First the fun recapy stuff. Saturday and Sunday I went out with my roommates on their quest to find a good
Busy Weekend (But Not As Busy As Next)

So this weekend was an unexpectedly busy weekend for me. Saturday evening we went to my roommate’s sister’s engagement celebration get together. I was figuring we’d stay for a couple hours, have a good time and then go home but we ended up staying past midnight and having a very fun time hanging out, eating,
Friends and Dream Theater in Massachusetts

Probably should have mentioned this around here sooner, but I’m now back from Worcester, MA where Wassy and I went to catch a Dream Theater headlining show during their tour with Iron Maiden. The weekend was, in a word, awesome. Earlier in the week we had started to get worried because it was looking like

I mentioned this on Facebook, but I wanted to mention it here as well. Wassy is working up a brand new bit of character artwork for my City of Heroes character, Frost. Check it out: The final piece is going to be digitally colored but she decided to work up a detailed pencil piece for
Keeping Busy

I figured I’d come out of hibernation to post up a couple of projects that I’ve been working on this month. First up is a couple of things I did for my friend Wassy’s website. She wanted a place to showcase the children’s book she did up for a course she took this semester, as
Lookin’ For Love (February FArt Entry)

Just a quick posting here. I’ve spent the last couple days working hard on finishing my entry in the February FArt competition. The theme this month was romance, and I decided to do a poster for a super hero dating service. This has some City of Heroes in-jokes in the text so it might not
