There was a TON of good music released this year, but for me…so far…Fear of a Blank Planet is my album of the year.

Springsteen's releasing a new studio album this week and Dylan's releasing a greatest hits compilation. Which do you prefer from a legend: new material or time-honored classics?
Well, I don't particularly care for either of those two, but in general, if an artist that I like is going to release a new album, then it better either be a live recording or new material. I'm not real interested in buying a "greatest hits" CD unless there's some nice bonus material included along with it.
I probably already have all the songs already, so why should I buy them just so I can have them all on one CD in a different order? Most greatest hits cds tend to come off as cheap money-grabs to me.
New material all the way! I will, however buy the Dream Theater greatest hits CD if it's ever released on the condition that Mike Portnoy get his way and is able to call it "Dream Theater's Greatest Hits: Pull Me Under and 8 Other Really Good Songs"

It's a little bit blurry, but it's the best one I took. I don't actually get the paper here, so I had to take this one at work. I also took it yesterday, but I forgot to post it until now.
