QotD: Fine Living
What does it mean to live well?
Submitted by Dean.
I was about to answer this question this morning, but then I realized that this is one of those things that requires some thought and reflection.
For me, living well means being happy. That's a fairly easy thing to say, but it really doesn't mean a heck of a lot. What's "happy" anyway? Happy is a tough thing to define. Obviously, it's different for different people. Knowing that there's people out there that care about you is part of it. Caring about them back is another. Being able to afford some luxuries (like my personal favorite, cool electronical gear) also doesn't hurt although having all the cool stuff in the world doesn't help if you're lonely.
A job that you enjoy doing. A roof over your head, food on the table, not having to worry if you're going to survive another month…
All the standard stuff.
To live well means to be happy.
