QotD: The Best Part of Summer
0What was the highlight of your summer?
Submitted by ladym.vox.com.
The highlight of my summer…well…there wasn’t really one specific highlight this year. Mostly just hanging out with my friends around the area, which is something I wasn’t able to do last year. The absence of something really makes you appreciate it a lot more when you can actually do it again.
The zoo trip was one of the highlights. That’d probably be my most fond memory of the time period. But there were other good ones too. The restaurant trip celebrating the end of the school year where the waitress brought us plates and butter and said “Here’s your bread” (I suppose you had to be there for that one). The comic book geek out day which consisted of nothing but comics and the Batman: The Animated Series DVDs…
Another highlight was probably going to the Renaissance Festival again this year with my sister. That’s always a good time.
Arrrrr!
0Avast ye lubber! It be Talk Like a Pirate Day today! Tis a crime to have ta work today
Ok, so my heart just isn’t in it this year. I’m kinda sick, so I’m finding it hard to work up the necessary energy to actually talk like a pirate. You need to have a certain attitude to pull it off…
Maybe I’ll be able to get into full swing later today.
It’s So Thin!
0My new 80GB iPod Video (Black) arrived yesterday! I had a chance to try it out a little bit. I’m coming from a 60GB iPod Photo thing and the size of this new one just amazes me. It’s like .2 inches thinner than the last one and has a bigger hard drive, a brighter screen and more battery life…I have no idea how they cram that much in such a small space.
I really do like it so far. The screen is awesome and the extra size above that of the iPod Photo makes album art and long song names easier to read. I tried some video on it and it worked pretty well…but I bought it primarily for audio since I’m not a big video guy.
The new search feature works pretty well. It lets you start typing in the name of an album/song/artist and the iPod will find everything that has that phrase in it’s name. I’ve found that after you type in enough to find what you’re looking for, you can hold down the center button for a few seconds and it’ll drop you into the results list.
My only thing (which I should have considered going in) is that the black iPod, while looking extremely cool, picks up fingerprints very visibily. Oh well. I just have to keep whiping it off. No big deal…
