Ooh, Shiny New Vox Stuff

0

I think I found another theme I enjoy…one of the new ones that came in release 11.

It looks like they’re really making a lot of refinements to the whole process here. I really can’t say I’m too fond of the little ad banners that show up on your front page if you’re not logged in, but really, it beats messing with your own blog software and getting everything set on your own with tags and stuff.

I found when I was running my own wordpress install, I seemed to spend more time tinkering with the site and trying to get things like tagging and an image gallery working right then I did actually writing stuff. Good thing I got my Vox invite when I did…

Stupid Weddings!

So I’m kinda bummed out right now.

I had some rough plans of heading down to Orlando, FL on the weekend of October 21-22nd to meet up with some of my friends from my City of Heroes supergroup X Syndicate. They’re some really cool people and this would have been the first face to face meeting that I’ve had with some of them. Plus it’d be my first trip to Florida. There were plans for going to Halloween Horror Nights 2006 at Universial Orlando.

Unfortunately, I hear today that a family member is getting married on the 21st and I have to go to the Wedding. Sigh.

It’s been a relatively crappy day anyway, epically with work related stuff. Nothing seems to be working right today and I ended up spending an hour or two doing something I thought would take 5 minutes. I guess I’ve just been feeling kinda down over the past couple days anyway, Score not withstanding. Not sure why…

QotD: The Best Way To Reach Me

0

What’s your favorite way to keep in touch? Phone, snail mail, email, text message, Vox, _____ ?

I find myself using IM most of the time for my day-to-day “keeping in touch” requirements. A lot of my friends I’ve never actually met in person anyway. Ahhh, the wonders of the Internet. Anyway, I’m generally less shy through a text based medium than I am face to face or on the telephone.

Real life conversations need to have a delete key. The best thing about IM is that you can start to say something and then realize it sounds completely stupid and scrap the whole thing without having to explain why you scrapped it. It’s a nice little safety buffer.

That’s not to say I’m totally IM, I do engage in phone conversations at times, and some people I do meet on Teamspeak when we’re playing games together and I guess that’s kinda like a phone.

I don’t text message a lot, generally only use that to recieve severe weather reports and stuff.
