Caught In The Whirlwind
Score Teaser on VH1 Classic
I high tailed it over to my parents house last night. They were nice enough to let me borow their TV for 2 hours so I could watch the Dream Theater – Score teaser trailer. Just warning you…a fanboy rant is incoming.
Oh. My. God. I cannot wait for Tuesday to come around so I can go and pick this up. First of all, James LaBrie (the lead vocalist) sounds amazing. They showed Innocence Faded as one of the songs in the teaser which has a really, really high pitched part in the middle and James just nailed it. That was the best I’ve ever heard him sing. I went to the show 3 nights before they filmed the DVD and he was right on then too, but this is a whole other level.
The camera work looked good as well. From the 1 hour they showed, I think Live at Budokan was a little more artistically filmed, but Score is really, really close.
You could almost feel the energy in the room during the concert. The band was all smiles (Mike Portnoy (the drummer) looked like he was about to burst a couple times during Sacrificed Sons. The crowd was into it, being loud, jumping around, etc.
Tuesday can’t come soon enough now.
